Hampton House is a residential care home for 26 people that aims to offer as much choice and as many opportunities for personal development as possible in a residential care home.
There are 26 single bedrooms, and two rooms have been converted to make a double bedroom and lounge for a married couple. People live in small groups and can choose their keyworkers.
We have recently reviewed all our residential care homes and in September 2013 our Board of Trustees made a proposal to close Hampton House in 2015.
We talked about the proposals with everyone who is directly affected within two weeks of making the proposals and now we are just starting to plan next steps. We want to listen to everyone who lives and works at Hampton House before making a decision on its future. We are planning to make a decision in early 2015.
We are fully committed to supporting each person involved by offering independent advocacy and working with their local authority social worker to find out what kind of support they would like in future.
